Redwood City

This Californian city’s claim to climate perfection is reflected in its slogan ‘Climate Best by Government Test’. It appears that a join German-American research study conducted before the first world war found Redwood City to be at the centre of one of three zones of ideal climate, the other zones being the Canary Islands and Mediterranean North Africa.

However, in December the average daily minimum temperature is just 3.7 ℃ (38.8 F) in January, and the average daily maximum is only 14.6 ℃ (58.3  F) in December, faling well short of the ‘year-round comfortable t-shirt weather’ criterion.
